Dr. Austin graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech in 2010 and earned her DVM from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She has spent most of her professional career in mixed-animal practice, providing veterinary care to cattle, horses, sheep, goats, swine, cats and dogs, but has found the most joy when practicing small animal medicine and surgery. She is also passionate about the importance of effective client communication and the veterinary-client-patient relationship.

Dr. Austin is a lifelong resident of the Shenandoah Valley, and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working on her family’s beef farm, listening to music, and cheering on the Hokies. She and her husband, Tyler, have a daughter, Caroline, and two cats, Fanny and Bessie.
